    Hi Daniel

Why is so much information required before you'll answer such a simple question?

    It looks ridiculous.

Just answer the question, stop hiding.

It there's no definitive answer just say it.

Just to say, my response is not levelled at Daniel, I realise that Daniel is operating to company policy.

My response should be taken as customer feedback.

Responses such as the one Daniel gave make it appear that it is company policy to fob off customers.

Irish Water has an opportunity to shine here, give a straightforward response, either there is no definitive answer or it is between x and y.

    And for balance:

We don't know if the OP query is genuine.
    It could be vexatious.
They might not be a customer.
They might be living in London, considering a move and enquiring whether water pressure meets their expectations before doing so.......

We do know that pressure can be inconsistent for many valid reasons, such as tests, repairs etc.

We don't know what "pressure" the OP has in their tap or indeed whether they even have a tap.

But this thing of trying to verify and answer everything via PM smacks of Irish Water trying to do its business in the shadows.

Why not just advise people reading that customers of IW can have IW check the pressure, (at the customers own expense) and also advise them or anyone with similar concerns of the cost involved in having this done, and whether their account etc needs to be up to date first?

    Communicate. In public.

A little bit of openness on IW's part wouldn't go astray.

    Kindest regards,

    GF.

Thank you for your feedback and we will be sure to take this on board.

Regarding this particular query, there can be a number of mitigating factors that can affect pressure to a home. Differences in water pressure can be caused by works in the area, leaks and internal plumbing.

The OP asked what the pressure of water supplied to homes in Limerick should be and in order to investigate this, it is best to get as much information on the exact location as possible.

As this is a public forum, best practice is to request these details by PM so we can elaborate on the query with the most relevant details for the customer.

However, we do understand where you are coming from and that this could be a general question. However, in order to help the poster, we would require specific location details which they may not want to provide publicly.

I hope this clarifies things and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
