Rocks thrown at car in Blanch

Was driving home from the cinema in Blanch shopping centre about 18:30, going down Snugborough Rd towards Clonsilla. There was a bunch of rubble and rocks in the road, but thought that a truck or something spilled some when driving. Next thing, boom boom. Someone threw rocks over the wall of a housing estate and dented the passenger door on my car. I rang to guards to let them know as someone could get injured. So, just be careful if you are driving along there. I marked roughly where in the picture.

    Sorry to here this.

Stupid f**ks nothing better to do.Its something I dread happening because there is not a lot you can do.

If you drove around to look for them there would be more damage I'm afraid, more than likely it's what these scummers were hoping for.

I had the same thing happen to me on the Fonthill road in Clondalkin this time last year. Rock through the front windscreen of my truck! .
I rang the Gardai in Clondalkin to be told it was not their area - 500metres from Ronantown station! and I should ring lucan as they had no one available but they had already received numerous reports of similar over the previous nights.

Had a rock thrown at my car last night driving down the South Circular Road near Webb Motors. Happened at quarter past seven. It hit the passenger side window with a large bang but bounced off - Just thinking what would have happened if I had a the window down with a passenger!......so tempting to get out of the car and deal with it but not worth it I suppose.......

Yeah I had it happen in Portlaoise there about 2 months ago, a gang of approx 20 KIDS (Max age was 14, lowest was about 8) throwing rocks at passing cars. So I drove to the local station only for the guards not to give a crap about it.

Not as damaging but I had Snowballs thrown at my car in Navan during Winter a few years back. I stopped an did a U- turn to see two of the three kids pelt it into a housing estate but the main culprit stayed walking down the road. Had a good look at him and drove off only to meet a Garda Car around the corner. Flagged down the Guard an told him what happened. When I checked the rear view mirror they had pulled over and were having a chat with the young lad.

I suppose the Guards are waiting before one of these rocks goes through a windscreen, knocks the driver out, car crashes and the driver is killed before they take these things seriously.

What would happen in that scenario assuming the culprit was found? Manslaughter?

Unless the rock is speeding it's too complicated for them to deal with.....
