Could anyone recommend a type of glue or something similar I could use on the plastic hinge in this picture?

It's a hinge from the armrest and normal superglue doesn't seem to do the job.

I'd forget glue for that and use a mechanical fixing, some small self tappers and a sheet of steel cut and drilled on the inside.

If you want to try glue get some 2 part epoxy. Lidl had it last Thursday for 2.99. They might have it still. It is excellent.
