Voda to Sky Speed differences

Moving from Vodafone broadband to Sky broadband currently. I'm on Simply Broadband Fibre with Vodafone and speed I get is 30mb currently.
I had KN out the other day to setup my line as a change is needed because I didn't currently have phone services. It wasn't a straight switch which was kind of awkward but anyway not a big deal.
I rang Sky to finish off the process and send out an engineer/modem. They've told me the max speed I can get is 15mb. I thought Vodafone and Sky use the same product and cabinet hardware so I'm a little confused.
Any ideas? I'll be making use of my 14 day cooling off if my speed drops in half but I'm just wondering is that a mistake or who I could query that with.

Its a mess due to sky refusing to use CRNs. As they've changed you from standalone to pots+BB theyve wiped your line rating and put you back on ADSL. In month you should be able to re-upgrade.

Standalone lines are given 8883-XXXXXXX format numbers called customer reference numbers to replace their phone numbers.

So if for example there was a line in a home but it's inactive, and you go with Sky to get it reactivated and their broadband package, would you experience the same difficulty?

Ah ffs why do they have to be so awkward! Definitely a month or any chance before that, I mean I can provide evidence my line is capable of higher

Well, you'd A. have to order TV to get a new line provide with Sky and even then you'd have B. to convince their sales guys thats a thing because from reports here many don't know still. Other than that, straightforward.

Yep, as suspected. When the second result starts looking like the first result (tests are monthly so 0-31 days from now) then you can order VDSL again.

Looks like they've re-tested the line but massive difference between 40mb and 90mb. I'm about 300m or so from the cab

90Mb is high outside of 200m but it could be a quiet bundle. The prequal is just a best guess from the MTAU unit and Sky can always set you lower if needed but never higher.

Wouldnt be surprised if whoever set you up for standalone before botched your line.
