Super Famicom Power Supply

Hi folks. Looking for help on this topic if possible. I'm getting a Super Famicom soon, and it comes with its original Japanese PSU. I don't want to fry the thing when I get it, so my understanding is I'll need a step down converter for the plug. I've been reading online about this, but it just seems confusing to me, so I was hoping someone could spell it out like I'm an idiot!

If I picked up this http://www.did.ie/sinox-us-voltage-converter-prd, would that do the trick? I've also read a Megadrive 1 PSU will do the job?

I don't want to do any damage to the beautiful little console, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah just get a Megadrive 1 PSU, no need for a nasty step down.

Great, and that won't cause any damage in the long term or anything like that? It definitely seems like a much easier solution!

Nope! they run off the same voltage so it's all fine :)

The Megadrive PSU is a great thing to have in abundance, works with the PC Engine and original Famicom too.
