Thought I heard of that place, €150 for distance membership, getting lots of people joining and then playing open days in their local clubs. Honourable

What format is the "All Ireland Championship"?
I've never heard of it, does it go by a different name?

It used to be the Cecil Ewing comp. For golfers in the 17 & upwards category.

Fair play to the lads - some achievement.

But - I would worry about some of these prizes being outside the rules of the GUI ?

All expenses paid 3 day trip ?

Unless ? can you play and win anything you want if not an affiliated competition ?

In Munster it's called the Mick Cashman trophy after a true gentleman and stalwart of the GUI who died a few years back.

Interestingly I believe SnaMon were to play Cahir in the Belvedere final for Co Tipperary and Cahir gave them a w/o as most of the team who won the fourball were playing.

Two in a row, wow what an achievement!

One of them also won the All Ireland Four Ball Comp with Slievenamon this year. That's some form!

    I know both of them
Really really really good players but unfortunately they just cant get cut no matter how hard they try

Happens with classics all the time.I know some people who were on a team that won a national competition this year and won four..yes four..sun holidays in the one year in classics a few years back
They would have been browned off after that only they sold two of them

Look - don't know what is going on in Tipperary.

But - I actaully know the names of key golfers from Tipperary now.

That is amazing - because I only know golfers from other counties , If I played with them , they are top amateurs or pros.

One thing I find interesting is - you seem to need to be from a handicap of 12 to about 18 to have a chance in the classics.

Best of luck to them .

Thanks for all the kind words lads.
It all just clicked on the day. One of those days.

    Delighted with the win

Fair play to them but don't know how they beat the Nenagh boys.
The parkland courses must be very links like down there.

That rule changed Fix. I'm not sure of the ins and outs, but there are exemptions for big prizes. Couple of years back, there were 2 cars won in Greystones by amateurs.....in the same day! It was all above board

How did you play 17 and 18 on The Andrews Fore?

Different gudie lines for hole in one prizes than for other comp prizes. The £500 doesn't apply.
