Molly I suggest you read medjugoria exposed, I believe medjugoria is satanic,i am not catholic, but many Catholics believe as I do and are afraid to speak out. Your own pope Francis has hinted he is not taken ln by it, but hasn't the gut's to tell his flock it's a lie. There are many sites that will show you where it is at odds with scripture.

I would agree that Medjugorje is of very doubtful authenticity. What vision threatens the life of the local ordinary (Bishop Zanic of Mostar) or more concretely in 1995 its devotees hold the local bishop (Mgsr Peric) hostage for a time? E Michael Jones' Medjugorje Deception details it all. The shrine church and the Franciscans are renegades. A supportive website details fairly accurately how the local ordinary is not supportive of the Medjugorje visions. Personally, I cannot be sure whether is a scam or some sort of satanic deception.

Now it has animated the weak and fading faith of a number, but I cannot see a doubtful phenomenon as a suitable route.

In response to the travel query:

November would be a good time to travel as the area is really dry, almost desert like. An old Tripadvisor thread suggests getting there is as normal. The temperatures would be bearable then. There are any number of specialists running trips like the Irish Medjugorje Centre.
