I am planning on tiling my kitchen floor. The floor is a solid wood floor which sits on a series of joists.

I am looking to use a terracotta tiles 25x25 overall 19 square meters.

I am wondering what would be the best way to prepare the surface so i can get a long lasting tiled floor.

    Many Thanks

I was in a similar situation to you and was recommended to use a cement backer board called "No more ply" on the floor before tiling. I haven't got to do that room yet though so I can't comment on it yet.
