They won't. Really scraping the barrel for thread ideas now.

Brown Thomas looks like a Christmas Tree threw up on it. They've had the Christmas stuff on sale since September, but as of today, the Christmas display and yuletide paraphernalia are outside. It's October.

I love Christmas but it's too soon for this crap, especially because of the pressure it puts on families, by over-hyping the event, and fattening expectations/ tills.

And this topic has appeared 3 days earlier than any previous year.

All the Christmas sweets have been on sale since the middle of August, surprised the displays are only going up now.

    It's almost a trivial annoyance.

Almost as bad as the word Xmas and misuse of an apostrophe.

It goes up early because Halloween isn't celebrated as much as Christmas and some people (myself included) like to do Christmas shopping or the bulk thereof, as early as I can. Retail makes sweet fcuk all from Halloween, so they get the Christmas stuff out usually around 2 weeks prior to Halloween to make sure everything is ready to go November 1st. Setting up displays isn't done overnight, and I as I said, not everyone wants to run around like an eejit 2 weeks before Christmas tipping entire shelves into their basket, or beating eachother with makeshift whips made from tinsel over the last Christmas pudding, or strangling shoppers with the Christmas tree lights to ensure you get the last box. But for you, I have a suggestion; don't buy it till you're happy to, and don't begrudge those who do?

And I don't want to upset you... but did you know the orders for Christmas stock is made... (in January and February) PLEASE SIR CALM DOWN PUT THE ELDERY WOMAN DOWN DO NOT THROW HER DOWN THE STAIRS
