    Hi
Im setting up a network for Irish women who are currently working in trades or construction jobs. Also anyone considering or involved in apprenticeships in anything like plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, painting, electrics etc etc
Especially I would love to interview women for a blog on the site. Anyone know anyone who may be interested?
    Thanks a million

I don't know any so I can't help you there, but I just wanted to say that this is a great idea!
When will the site be ready?

    Great idea!

I would love to a woman coming out to your home to fix your boiler, do plumbing electrics! Same as I would love a woman car mechanic! Just make sure they arrive when they say they will and your network will Thrive!

There's actually a trade's woman who trades under the name The Gas Woman who could do what you mentioned.

You can talk to our HR manager about it if you want. We've had female apprentices it might be an interesting conversation for you.

Yeah I was chatting with here the other day! She has a great rep with her work and seems like a really sound head. Been in the industry for a while which is a great source of inspiration for any newcomers :) Cheers!

Yeah its interesting isnt it? Ive worked in a lot of countries overseas and theres definitely more women on those sites. I think it will change here though. Seems like there is finally a move to encourage girls to consider it as a career choice. Thanks for posting!

Oh and if you are still in touch with any of the girls ask them to send me a message. Cheers!

I watched the youtube video of that just now. Yikes! They did a terrible job. Or at least one of them did. It was awful to watch!

I once procured the services of a woman in a very male-dominated trade on the assumption that she couldn't possibly be crap, because why else would she be doing it?

My assumption was wrong. I still can't quite get my head around it.

I suppose in fairness she wasn't necessarily crapper than a lot of men, I just expected that she'd be good.

Yeah it is interesting alright, I wonder why so many don't consider it here but they do in other countries.

I'm not in touch when the any of them these days but perhaps give the TEEU a bell, they might be able to put you in touch with some.
