    Hi all,

I've a colleague who is looking to do his class 1 medical renewal in Dublin. Can any of the Doctors in the list below from the IAA with "C1" in the privileges column do this for him?

    https://www.iaa.ie/personnel-licensing/aero-medical-section/examiners

    Many thanks

Would it not be more prudent for them to contact the AME directly or am I missing something?

There in lies the problem, I've only ever done a medical in the Mater. So gave him the number, after a few attempts he got through and was told only initials were being done on the day he was in Dublin. (This was his only DUB flight this roster)

I had heard of another AME who did Cityjets medicals. But didn't have a name. He called the IAA who said "it's on our website". There can be difficulties here (not in Ireland) accessing websites without a VPN.

Now I have forwarded the list to him but want to know:

Can any of the Doctors on the list with "C1" in the privileges column do this for him?

Or what days Dr Dominic isn't playing golf:D

Charter Medical is the best place to go for a class1, open Mon-Fri 0830-1600 and Dr. Killeen is a really nice guy and fellow pilot.

The problem (that I encountered) with charter medical is their booking system and poor ability in coordinating doctors/specialists with the appointments that they have made, and the fact that they make bookings and repeatedly cancel them and make sh1t of your plans.

    Ask me how I know....

They may have a great doctor at the helm but unfortunately that has not spread to the front of office staff there. Granted it was only my experience with them..

Charter medical gets my vote. I used to go the Mater for renewals and was usually sitting for 2/3 hours each time. Decided to try Charter Medical and they have you in an out in an hour.

Maybe my experience with them was unlucky, (although it was not a once off because I had the same issue with them three times) but like anything, some people will have good reviews and others not so good.
