When looking at the pressure guide on my 2008 318D it quotes front 2 bar & rear 2.3 bar!

This seems very low to me?

Also can you recommend an all weather run flat tyre to suit?

1 bar is just under atmospheric pressure at sea-level, i.e. ~14.5 psi. So that's 29 psi front, 33 psi rear which is quite sensible.

2.3 and 2.5 on my 740 so sounds bang on for a 3 series.

I'm presuming this is obviously due to the tyre being run flat?

    What is?

The low tyre pressure? Most cars I've had Audi, Mercedes, Porsche all had higher pressure ratings

Its more average than low IMO, the others you mention would be high

Wouldn't call it low - I'm running 2.2 bar/32 psi all round on mine.

OK perfect I'll leave it at that so....just found out I've a puncture in the right rear tyre!

Off for some early tyre shopping. Worst thing about run flats, can be repaired like a normal tyre

Newer ones can if the puncture is Smack in the middle and not the sidewall

Good to know.....needs a rear set soon anyhow as only 3mm approx.

I'll get someone to look at it and hopefully fix it until I can get a new set

Slightly off topic and a little late but the best thing that I ever did to my e90 was to change to regular tyres.

Cheaper and a much better drive. I have a can of foam and an air compressor in the boot.

If you are changing 2 tyres, it might be a consideration for you.

It is not recommended to mix run flat tyres with standard tyres as they give different handling characteristics. Either replace all 4 with one type or the other in my view.

Sorry - meant to clarify: I replaced all 4 at the same time. The cost of 4 x regular tyres was still less than the cost of 2 x run flat.
