Stupid question I know. But can I switch a TVR from one end of a rad to another. The couch keeps breaking it where it is currently on one rad.

You would need to drain down the system and change the whole valves around.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Nuts I was thinking that. Only had that done recently.

Newer tvr's have an arrow on them pointing in both directions and so can go on either side.

Older ones with arrow pointing one way have to be fitted corresponding to the direction of the flow.
If not the hammer like hell when shutting off.

Yes I've experienced that , have seen bidirectional ones used to replace banging units.

I've broken a couple of tvr already on this rad.
But it's a big rad and I'd like to have a lightwaverf tvr on it, I've 5 already in the house but they are delicate and it wouldn't last long if I install it there now
