Fireplace/back boiler question

We have installed a new marble hearth in front of the fire. But the fire floor is now 2 inches lower than the hearth. Can I raise the floor with fire cement to be level with hearth and sit the grate on that. The second question is the back boiler has the 3 prongs in the fire place. Raising the hearth will bring the grate closer to them. Is that a problem. Or is there a certain distance the grate has to be from them prongs.

Sand and cement is the normal filling on a fireplace base.
3 pronged grate will sit on it.

Fire cement is only normally used where their is direct contact with flame, ie. fire back,

I want to know if raising the fireplace floor to bring it inline with the new hearth will affect the back boiler. With the floor being closer to it.

This will have no effect on the output of the back boiler as long as the grate is still in the same position.

If the grate has to much closer to the boiler then it will affect the heat output of the boiler. I had this issue before after fitting a fire front door, the grate was moved too close to the boiler and it lost heat to the rads, by lowering the grate back down again solved the problem...
