chartering a flight

Hi , anyone know if any joe soap can charter a plane? Looking at travel to a sports event with a group. Have got a few quotes etc via UK/irish providers. Can I just book this and do they take on all the organisation etc or do I need to do this through a registered tour company/travel agent or something.

Stobart Air used to do it, they may still do it, contact them.

You can do it alright, you will often see it on Irish football forums in the run up to away trips. However, the cost per passenger tends to be very expensive and if you can't fill the plane you might be left to pick up the shortfall yourself.

Based on that you could have hired a Monarch aircraft and based on it being an A320, with 180 seats you would need to charge passengers approx 250 return, fairly pricey but for the purpose of match travel that's standard
