Peugeot 307 rear wheel alignment/suspension

My wife's Peugeot 307 failed the NCT due to a broken rear suspension spring (Offside/rear) and rear wheel alignment being out (-20.0, m/|Km).

I changed both back suspension springs and have booked the car in for a retest on Saturday morning.

I called a reputable garage this morning inquiring about rear wheel alignment. The guy on the phone seemed uncertain as to whether it is possible to do the rear wheel alignment on a Peugeot 307.

    So my questions are:
*Would the broken spring been the cause of the wheel alignment being out?
*Would fitting the new springs resolve the issue?
*Would I be wasting my money if I took the car in to get the wheel alignment done?
*Should I chance the NCT retest without getting the wheel alignment done?

    Any advice would be welcome.

hello there....just only saw your post

Q1......not sure.....this must be replaced anyway..this would be a visual fail.
Q2......this has to be replaced anyway.
Q3......You cannot get alignment done on the rear wheels
Q4......You could but check the suspension bushes.....your misalignment of
    20m/klm is alot of misalignment

My own P307 hatchback has a misalignment of 14m/klm ( 18 is the limit)....I changed my rear axle bushes ( two in total ) but its still out alot. These axles have a slight room for location adjustment where the subaxle connects to the chassis. Its possible it might have shifted but its unlikely as there are four bolts bolted to the chassis at either side.
