Hi, sorry if this is the wrong tread, looking of clarification on the pic attached, I have a rat in the utility room but also pick up this little fella on the camera. Looks like a mouse to me, but they say they don't share the same space. Anybody help with this one? It's standing on a standard paint tray.

I'd say a young rat, just the body shape seems more rat like..

I think young rat as well...I caught two in the attic last year...a small bit bigger than your lad.. the racket they made was something else..we had to use a rat trap to catch them..got a cat since and no return of mice or rat thank god ..

    Could it be a shrew?

It it looks at you it is a young rat.A mouse will just run away.

It definitely looks like a rat to me,too big to be a mouse.

Make sure it doesn't grow into a teenage rat,a trap should do the trick.

How are they getting into your utility room.

They found a void between the extension and old garden wall. Wall will be pulled down tomorrow and brickwork will be repaired and plastered. Horrible little ****es to have getting in. Traps are all set!
