Waiting on confirmation that Department of Social Protection have no claim to my moth

So, my mother died last February and since then I've had to wait for the grant of probate to be processed before I can go about distributing the estate. In the middle of September I was told that it was all pretty much done and dusted after 7 months of waiting and being given false estimate times. But last week my solicitor notified me that nothing can be done until he has confirmation that the social welfare department has no claim to her estate as she was in receipt of Disability allowance. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and, if so, how long should I expect to wait before this is all cleared up? Google has yielded no results so far, so I figured the next best place to ask was here. Cheers in advance!
