So have you a specific question or are you just here for a general rant about the NCT?

What part is it? What is the nature of the failure? The criteria do seem to change year-on-year, and sometimes there is disconnect between testing techniques and/or parameters and manufacturers' engineering, but we are in very vague, murky waters yet to be screaming "money racket!!" :D

    The faulty one.

If a part is faulty then they will fail it. My 2001 Subaru passed the NCT on Monday, first time too. So they don't go about failing everybody.

But I did leave €50 on the dash. And was gone when I got back into car.

Part in bold may or may not have happened.

Drove my 07 corolla in last night and did nothing with it and it passed.

They gave me an extra two years too.

Haven't had anything more than a "fail advisory" in years. I give them "the look" when I hand over the keys and all the way through the test lane.

It's tricky to pull off - I call it the "my car is more than 8 years old so I don't care if you fail it or not I'm gonna ignore the fails and cut my own brakes out of spite cos that's what old car drivers do, beeeeetch!" look.

Please elaborate better or I will close this thread as a gripe-swipe again NCT.
