Hi all, so I'm having a bit of a dilemma, I've a wedding coming up this weekend and money is pretty tight at the min so I'm looking for your opinions on the best budget fake tan there is? I've used Rimmel sun shimmer and find it a bit sticky/smelly. Also cocoa brown - which I like but ended up streaky the last time. Any info is much appreciated TIA

I personally love the bellamianta medium glow tan. It's 20 euro a bottle but it's easy to apply and looks amazing on.

Tantastic instant bronzer. Fool proof and has a lovely finish.

St. Moritz mousse. It's about a fiver and it's one of the best tans I've ever used. And believe me, I've tried a *lot*.

I completely agree with LexieOnRale - Bellamianta is well worth the price.

    St. Moriz is really good.

I found St. Moriz really dirty looking on me and it didn't wear off great - I recently sent a ton of bottles to the charity shop that I'd picked up for cheap

Interested in trying the Bellamianta one - I've started to get very allergic to St Tropez which was my go to tan for years so use Rimmel instant tan these days - I don't find the newer matte ones to be smelly.

St. Mortiz makes my skin really itchy, I may be allergic I think.

Dunno if I'd call a 20e tan cheap, also.

I love Cocoa Brown, it really suits my skin, lobe the gradual tanner they do aswell of your interested in a lighter tan!

Thanks for the replies. I used to have the St moritz and found it dirty looking on me too... I have cocoa brown here but am worried it'll go streaky like the last time. No body likes a streaky tan! :/ I have read somewhere that if you rub frozen peas on your skin after you have shaved and exfoliated you get rid of the little brown dots that tend to appear in your pores... apparently the coldness of the peas closes your pores? anybody else hear this?

Pores aren't like a door that opens and closes. You need to prep the skin before applying your tan. So

    1) start exfoliating every day for about a week beforehand
    2) use a body moisturiser that hydrates your skin (my skin is crazy dry. I use coconut oil)
    3) shave at least 24hrs beforehand
    4) be completely oil and deodorant free before applying the tan. If you're dry anywhere (elbows, knees, heels) put a little bit of moisturiser on.
    5) for hands, use whatever's on the mitt to bring down your hand (not onto fingers) at the end of application, then use a moisturiser to bring it down further, so tan down to just below your knuckles, and then moisturise your hands rubbing them together -- this gives a nice finish for around your fingers etc, not darker or caked

Sally Hansen is my go-to tan, okay its not waterproof but its handy and pretty fail-safe.. I've used cocoa brown a few times and I'm not sure about it still. It does the job, but just about.. My sister recently got Bellamianta so an looking forward to hearing her review on it too
