Virus on Wileyfox Swift?

I have a Wileyfox Swift a few weeks. Using the stock Chromium browser I only view about a dozen or so mainstream websites, i.e., nothing dodgy.

Some words are being converted to links. In this test post "game.co.uk" is converted to a link - boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=101272223&postcount=1. The "boards.ie" text is not converted.

    Links lead to:

go.skimresources.com/?id=61111X1383796&site=boards.ie&... (full link truncated as I am not allowed to post a link as a new user)

    and

    clk.tradedoubler.com/... (truncated)

Could this be a virus or a boards thing or am I missing something else?

Not happening on desktop, only on the phone and on boards (that I have noticed).

Skimlinks is a boards thing - more info here. Not sure about tradedoubler though.

You can opt out of skimlinks from the link above if you want.

A factory reset usually gets rid of any stuff like that, I've never seen an android "virus" (usually a browser hijacker from chrome on windows) survive a reset...

That's where I would be looking first, on your windows desktop, signed into chrome, run something like this :

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Not sure of site but adwcleaner should sort it...

Edit - just to add to this, make sure and reset chrome to default settings after running ADW...
