Anyone had any experience of buying tyres in the north, specifically Newry.?

With the exchange rate I'd hope there'd be good savings.

Need a new set of run flats and looking at 250 per corner in Dublin. The places I've checked only stock premium brand run flats.

Order online, Eiretyres, Oponeo and Camskill. :)

Worth checking for the best deal on each.

I have used kwik fit in Lisburn. I would Google a picture of my car and find one with an english registration and then put it into their reg box. It's then gives you the size and prices of each tyre so you know what your going to be paying.
Then ring and book your car in if it cheaper

Google the names of every tyre place in the area and phone them for a quote, tell them the size, type and makes you are considering (otherwise they'll quote the cheapest rubbish avaiable).

There's a tyre place right before the entrance to The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry, it's called Modern Tyres, no idea on pricing or work but probably easiest if your going shopping in Newry, here it is on Streetview...

£147 per corner fitted for Goodyears. £161 for pirellis. £172 for continental.

    Worth the trip.

Two years ago, I bought mine in Modern Tyres in Newry. I got great service and value. They were Michelin.

Theres a Modern Tyres in Strabane too, might be the same company. They seem to buy in bulk so have great deals every once in awhile. I bought rainsports for €60 fitted when they were €90 on eiretyre. Went back with the wife's car a few months later and they were back up to €100

Lakeland Tyres are usually the keenest prices around here. Just a bit of a hike away from you, as they are in Lisneskea, Co. Fermanagh.

Exchange rate, Vat etc, should be plenty of bargains to be had, even better if you factor in a shopping trip, the costs of fuel ect can be spread across a huge saving overall.
