Triton Aspirante Power Shower Problems

Having problems with aspirante power shower where the heat control gradually gets stuck over time and won't move. I've already broken two of the plastic spindle covers.

Is it to do with the water supply being too hot? (I've it set to 60 with an EPH control but it seems ridiculously hot even from the taps).

Is there something else that needs cleaning or adjustment? The shower works fine otherwise so I'd like to not have to fork out 500 or so to install a new one!

Aspirante is the colour. You have an aquasensation or 2000xt in a grey or silver.
You need a new thermostatic valve. These can just fail over time or as they are wax cartridges can be damaged if the water is too hot entering the shower.
Like any other household appliance the lifespan is around 10 years. They can last 5 years or 20 years depending on use but it is not worth spending money repairing anything close to 10 years
