What is the criteria for an NCHD to move from SHO to Registrar payscale?

I am unable to find this info anywhere.

    Thanks

Depends on the post specified in the contract, i.e. if you have an SHO contract you are on the SHO scale, if you take up a Registrar post then your contract will specify that and you will move to the Registrar pay scale. Basically you are paid as a Registrar if that is your job title.

Reg jobs in most specialties require memberships or similar. I have known people become regs before completing memberships but I think they were exceptional cases.

Were you hired as an SHO or Reg? Are you on the Reg call rota? Are you on a training scheme or in a standalone post?

If you are an IMO member they should be able to advise also.

Many Regs around that don't have memberships. Generally you need to have completed 2 years SHO before you can be appointed to a permanent Reg position.

Thanks. Do you have any official document stating the same? It would be of great help.

I don't I'm afraid, but for example on the Pakistan scheme lots and lots are first year Regs with no memberships. I have many friends who completed memberships in reg years.
