Seen something very similar in Wicklow recently... two horses just left in a field to starve.

One has since died and the other one just vanished overnight, no idea who owned them but I could point out the field.

I can't bear to look at the link so I'm not going to. But, it drives me absolutely insane with rage when people have animals and won't take care of them. Pets, or farm animals. I think it takes a very sick person to deprive a defenceless animal of food or water, or people who have dogs tied up all day long, usually gotten before a baby and ignored as soon as there's a real baby in the house.

No guarantee that the horses were put there by the landowner. He may not even know they are there. Then again...

I get what you mean that compared to some of the deliberate sadistic cruelty you see, this old prick neglecting his animals seems tame in comparison.

But it still a disgrace for this guy to leave animals to rot and die. His treatment of an injured dog a few years back would turn your stomach.

And what really gets me is that he is a repeat offender and yet now even as he racks up cruelty conviction numbers 26-29, he will still probably avoid a custodial sentence.

Suspended sentence because of 'advanced years and circumstances'. The 'Ah shur God love him' attitude of the judiciary.
