    Hi all,

Can anyone explain to me please what kind of role this is? What would be involved and what kind of day to day things would you be doing? Is it a technical role and would it be interesting? Is anyone here working in this area? My background is in desktop support but I want to make a move into another area of IT. I have an interest in information security.

Associate Technology Risk Analyst (Access Management)

The candidate will primarily be involved in the provisioning of access for employees and will contribute to the on-going challenge of identifying opportunities to improve the access experience for the employee.

    All feedback appreciated thanks :)

Sounds like a role that would be processing security requests for a big company, guessing American company, granting access based on criteria met, etc. This would be processed based rather than technical based, your current role would be more technical.
If you want to progress from desktop support, you should be looking at tier 2 technical roles and stay away from process based roles, unless that is what you want to do.
In your current role, if an issue needs to be escalated, who does it go to? That person is in the role you should be aiming for.
