Heard several Wexford players have fled to New Zealand.

    Is this true?

Appearently so. Bad time for them to leave although its hard to imagine us being too interested in the match tonight.

    We never whitewash Shels.
This could be the end of our playoff hopes unless Cobh mess up their last two games.

Every game from here on in is crucial and I'd be hopeful of Dundalk picking up points against Sligo tomorrow evening. They seem to be struggling badly for goals lately and to be honest I can't even remember the last time they beat us. One of Stephen Kenny's very first games is probably the last time I can remember them turning us over. I'd imagine Kenny will field pretty much our strongest 11 even though the Cork game is on Tuesday. Can't afford any fcuk ups. Shields maybe in for O'Donnell is a possibility and maybe Meenan in for Mountney but apart from that it I can't see much changing.

Harps could do with three points, it would see them safe...

Sounded like an easy win for us against Wexford tonight. They could be well beatable in the playoffs.

Think that's really the end of our chances of escaping the playoff at least. We've lost a lot of players and really have to re-build our squad. Extremely, personally disappointed with certain people abandoning their club at a vital time. Going to be one of those times where it's demanding to be a supporter again soon.

Makes the league look bad, very amateurish.

I have a lot of time for Wexford Youths and the work they are doing. However, you would have to question whether an amateur club belong in the top division after the events of this week.

We were promoted for our performances on the pitch last year, and we did everything we could off the pitch this year to prevent what happened. We have absolutely one of the tightest budgets going, but we got the best squad in the first division last year. It's up to other sides to do better IMO.

They may yet manage the automatic drop. Drogheda and UCD will be happy with what they see.

Great win for Bohemians tonight against Rovers in front of the first sell out crowd this season in Dalymount Park, very entertaining game in contrast to last nights shockingly poor performance by our National team

very disappointing from Rovers. Third spot in their own hands and excellent away performances in Cork, Dundalk and Derry only for it to be softly given away to Bohs.

Bohs were excellent, Rovers were appalling.

have to agree with this... this is football and youths made the premier on merit and on the pitch. Out of curiosity white horse, did you object to Dundalk losing their top flight place in 2007?
As with the 5 who have left, clubs have to work within the resources they have. Wexford have done that and are still a premier team... What makes the league look amateurish is shoddy administration which has given the current top clubs the run in they have, clubs repeatedly going to the begging bowl or straight up bust. Thats what really makes the news. Clubs in the league has historically had issues with keeping players. With season contracts, clubs paying what they can afford etc, wexford have just taken more drastic hit than normal due to their resources. Still hard to see Longford gaining 6pts on them.

On tonight fantastic to get the win which should see us safe, back to the performances which had us joint 5th earlier in the season. Good game, both mixed it up well. Bray most certainly tested our defense but we held firm, quality crosses which eventually got one through. Can see how they were on such a good run. 2 weeks ago Bray would have won that but good to see Ollie was able to turn the horrific run around. He is still learning at this level. May not be a coincidence either that McNulty was missing for the bulk of our poor form. A good defender and adds a bit going forward. Banda unluckly not to nick a goal with 2 chances in injury time, he should have been on 20mins before, Curran was wrecked.

Least it's a reminder never to be confident in a result for bray again. Hopefully get back on track next week, would like to finish too 6 but be hard to do now.

Wexford Youths started with two 17 year old lads tonight and 2 key players missing through injury and suspension. We're down to the bare bones now but I think the remaining squad have the ability and heart to keep us up via the playoffs. I think it may benefit us to finally know that automatic survival is now gone. The focus is to stay ahead of Longford and prepare for Drogs/UCD/Cobh

I'm actually feeling a bit better about this than I did last week. Always better to get rid of uncertainties

Thought our promotion hopes were dead in the water going into injury time. Sounds like it was a cracker.
A Limerick win tonight would likely mean that whoever loses in Drogheda next week misses out on a playoff spot.

Tbh with you it just seemed like we wanted it a lot more. Rovers were not at the races but we did not let them into the game at all.

Just wish we played like that all the time.

Cork winning, dundalk losing, Longford winning.

Didn't see that result in Oriel coming.

It'll be some kick in the stones for Dundalk if they get overtaken in the League after how they have played this season.

And with their terrible schedule, its something that could easily happen.

    Cork for the Double?

    FT: Longford 2 - 3 Derry City.

That sounded like a tough victory.....but 3pts is the important thing.

Any Dundalk fans at the game tonight?

What happened you? Is fatigue starting to show? Or just one of those nights?

Thought I was going to barf when Longford took the lead twice

Was a great game, we looked poor in the 1st half tbf. You're just lucky we love conceding last minute goals as we looked good for the win in the 2nd half.

It'll be some final day in the first division. Cobh look almost guaranteed a playoff place as I can't see them not beating Athlone. UCD need to beat Drogheda in that case.

Another horrendous mistake from Rogers set the ball rolling after about a minute. He really is having a horrible end to the season. We played OK for the remainder of the half but Sligo defended well and bar the odd moment of magic from Horgan we didn't create a whole lot.

Second half we were simply awful. Gannon was poor again. Meenan making awful decisions every time he got the ball. Players were trying to walk the ball into their net rather than shoot. Very frustrating. We actually got worse when Sligo went down to 10 men. Cretaro scored an absolute peach to finish us off.

Dean Shields had a nightmare cameo missing two relative sitters and losing the ball a couple of times. Fair play to Sligo. They defended well, played the ball out of defence intelligently and counter attacked very well. Well deserved three points. Tuesday becomes even bigger now.

Knowing this team it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they bounced back with a win but it's going to be so tough. I'd nearly put in Keane for Gannon at this stage. Nerves are gonna be shot come Tuesday evening.

One of those nights. Can't blame fatigue at all.

After Rogers gifted the opener we had about six great chances in the next 20 and couldn't score. We had three great chances in the second half too.
Sligo deserve a lot of credit also. Their game was flawless. They were well organised and broke with pace. Few decent footballers in that team and with one or two additions could be decent shout for Europe next year
