LED spot lights are your best option. Should be easy enough to wire out. LED are not heavy on juice which makes fusing and switching easy. Trying to sind a suitable spot to mount may well be hardest part of the job.

I fitted a set of these lately. Thought them quality. Stainless steel brackets and bolts and great light. Very straight forward as replacing conventional lamps. €45 each though.

Lumens (lm) is what you want to be looking at. The higher they are, the brighter the light. You'd want 2500lm lamps or higher anyways for comfort.

The wiring isn't too tricky. Two wires on lamp - live and earth. Usually red and black. Red is live and black is earth.

Some lights are wired with 2core cable that has back and white cable. In this case the black is the live and white is earth.

Worst you'll do if wire them wrong is blow a fuse. Best to know where your fuses are and have a few spare ones! 15A or 10A.
