HDMI cables either work or don't work. The only difference is the 'capacity' using the term loosely. So a 4K hdmi will either carry a 4K signal or it won't.

While you're there buying a "special" 4k cable you may as well pick up a special "digital antenna" while you're at it. This kind of branding is the work of charlatans and the modern equivalent of snake oil salesmen. I went to Pow*****y recently to buy an antenna and the sales guy was insistent that the antenna was specially designed for digital signals. The idiot! It's got to the point where they believe their own bulls**t....

It all depends on what version your are buying and what you want it to do, so technically they are NOT all the same, but the ordinary person wont notice the difference....

I actually managed to buy a low enough quality cable that you can see the difference. Bought a cheap ass one from a security camera crowd in portlaoise cable has no ferrites and feck all shielding when anyones phone gets a text or receives a call in the viscinity of the tv / monitor the picture does a merry dance and the tv goes blank. Binned it and eeplaced with ine from deal, probkem solved.

What's a 4K ready cable? Sounds like a marketing term as oppose to a cable standard.

You have standard speed or high speed, or HDMI 2.0

A HDMI 1.4 cable may support 4K but it's not guaranteed

No there are different standards.

Strictly speaking there are two types of HDMI cable; one that won't carry 4K and one that will ("Standard" versus "High Speed").

But you only need the latter in the rare instance that you have a 4K source and a 4K TV. Most people don't.

Pretty much any cable you buy today will support HDMi 2.0. This upgrade (from the previous 1.4 generation) will see you through 4K without issue. THe only issue you will potentially see is build quality. The cheapo dealz versions (Ive had plenty) are weak in terms of build quality so if you are anyway abusive with your cables or are forced to contort the end connectors to access ports e.g say a close wall mount scenario restricting space between wall and rear HDMi ports, you could have issues.

I've tested plenty and if you bend the cables severely where the cable meets the actual HDMi connector, you could see issues. I normally get around this with 90'connectors.

But......if you currently have a HDMi 2.0 cable, irrespective of where it was purchased and what price you paid for it, and it works with your current setup, it'll be fine for 4K.

As others have said there is little difference between most non 4k HDMI cables especially over short distances.
When I upgraded to 4k source and TV my HDMI cables could not handle the content (13gig-18gig for a 42minute TV episode) so I went for generic 4k cables and all good.

Exactly, it depends on your requirements so all the posters simply stating that dealz hdmi is the same as a 4K one are misinformed

There are some uninformed post here on this matter4k hdmi is not a scam or marketing buzz, tbey are genuine. It refers to the bandwidth that the hdmi cable can carry as a 4k signal contains a lot more data than a hd signal. Generally the hdmi 2.0 spec would be suitable for such use. One important thing to remember is that if the cable is 4k capable then the supposed quality doesn't matter i.e a euroshop 4k hdmi cable will work just as well as a monster cable from the likes of currys

Please study the bandwidth difference between 1.3 1.3a 1.4 and 2.0 and post correct information. A dealz cable will not let you watch 60 fps 4k youtube on your 4k tv so its very erroneous to say they are all the same. For practical use 1.4 is more than adequate due to the framerate of standard movies and tv but there are use cases where a 2.0 cable is more suitable, if one needs to display framerates higher than 30fps.

Please study my previous post , where I said they are not all the same, that there are different standards.

I have a couple of these in my av setup. Cheap as chips and good quality, would definitely recommend for those running 4k TVs in conjunction with 4k av receivers. Also using one to connect my shield tv.

This isn't exactly true. I had some cables that I bought off Amazon for very cheap and I did get a picture using them however, the cable was obviously awful quality and there was actually interference from the RF aerial that was near it. So I had a load of little dots on the screen.

So now I just don't go ridiculously cheap on them.

Correct, shielding is important although most reasonably cheap generic cables have adequate levels of shielding.

Can anyone confirm if dealz sell hdmi 1.4?

It's a thick 1M Signalex cable that Amazon say is 1.4. You'd expect some user complaints on boards by now if it wasn't. Markings "standard HDMI cable"

The 2Euro shops do a thinner 1.8M, packaged as V1.4 and "standard HDMI cable with eithernet" printed on it ... for €2.
