Chopping up Vitamin C

    I've just remembered something...
    I read someplace that cutting up fresh fruits and vegetables, or grating them finely, reduces the Vitamin C content.

    Well, if that is so, does blending them into a smoothie with a very fine spinning blade, completely destroy the Vit. C in them?

    Are smoothies over-rated, vitamin-wise?

    Does a Nutri-bullet actually kill nutrients, hence the name, ha ha?

    I know f£ck all about food chemistry...but does anyone here have any actual knowledge about this?

    It doesn't.
    Not when you cut them during preparing a meal. Neither does blending or anything like that.

    If you were to cut them really small ant leave them to dry out, you'd lose nutrients, but you'd be looking at leaving them there for a week or two.
