In short you should see this series; great acting and snappy characters so far from episode 1. Highly recommended if you like CSI, Elemental or similar shows with a touch of snarky retorts back and forth.

Yeah I thought it was great too. Out of the new crime/legal procedurals (including Bull and Notorious), I liked this the most.

Even when Hayley Atwell is being an asshole, she is still great. :)

Even if it was sh1t I would watch it the sound down just because of Hayley :)

    I really enjoyed that.

The "critics" online are laying into it (it's becoming more and more apparent that they expect every show to be as ground-breaking and epic as Game of Thrones or the like, but a variety of genres is important), but I really enjoyed it - it had a certain charm and I can't fault it, it's already better than a fair few in the procedural genre.

As with most procedurals it relies heavily on a likeable cast which for me Hayley Atwell, Shawn Ashmore and Emily Kinney is more than enough of a draw.

Premiered with a fractional 18-49 rating, 0.9, and only a little over 5 million viewers. Terrible. A good chance this is the first new show cancellation of the season.

The critics, it seems are giving it a short sentence :o

After watching the second episode I do think it's missing something I just can't put my finger on what it is despite an excellent cast.

Though I will continue to watch it to feed my perfectly normal unhealthy obsession with Hayley Atwell.

    Emily Kinney is 31 !!!!

She looks like she's about 16.

Other than Halyley Atwell's character nothing is really standing out about this show to me yet. It is enjoyable though.

It starts on Wednesday November 2nd at 9pm on Sky Living

Conviction has not been picked up for a full season. The 13 episodes that have been produced will be broadcast but no more are being made. It is not officially cancelled but the future doesn't look bright.

Why would they not have episode 9 play earlier? That's exactly the type of episode this show would have needed earlier to grab attention and put in tension between people...

    A great episode of television.

It's being moved to Sunday nights in January when it comes back for the last few episodes.

    It might be saved yet.
ABC opted not to pick up additional episodes of the series beyond its original 13-episode order. The network, however, is retaining an option to order a second season and is keeping the options on the cast.

Well episode 10 was another strong episode building on the slammer episode 9; I really hope someone (*cough* Netflix *cough*) will pick it up and run with it as the overarching story is there unlike for example Bull and interpersonal plot lines are starting to spin...

Really enjoyed that episode as well I just can't see it surviving really.

Only hope it has is if ABC decide to set up their own streaming platform like other Networks and keep it as an online exclusive but I don't think that will happen either.

I caught up with the last 6 or so over Christmas and now I'm up to date. This turned into a really great show that deserves a second season. The characters all have depth and bounce off each other really well.

    Conviction deserves to keep going.

So that's the end of that, I guess. The last episode was very good - shame there will be no more.

And an empty show like Bull will likely get another season or three :/

Some of the cast have already got new gigs so the show is dead.

Btw the beginning part with the Nazi stabber etc. "from previous episodes" but I can't recall it or find the episode when I was trying to quickly check through the old once.

Must have missed it or completely forgotten about it; time to rewatch it :)

I'm sorry to see the show go. It was consistently good for the last few episodes and I was growing to like the characters. I thought both Hayley Atwell and Emily Kinney did a great job and look forward to seeing them in something soon.

I too am sorry to see the show go. It's really improved over the last while. What's more, this episode has left me wanting more which is all you can really ask for a show in its first season. It's a shame it will be back. There was lots of potential there. I agree that Bull isnt in the same league. I do enjoy bull, but it has a much higher bull**** quotient than conviction does. It's a shame sometimes seeing the good shows that fall by the way side and the average shows that make it.
