Some of the reviews wouldn't fill me with hope for this.

Hmmm, take the plunge on this or wait until Black Friday?

Bought my wife the G50 last Xmas, which is basically the same device on an Intel chip and without the dedicated GFX. Pretty chunky and heavy as modern laptops go. Performs well though. Upgrade to 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD and you'll have a good budget gaming laptop.

Comes loaded with Lenovo bloatware though, so you'll want to give it a good clean up.

It's more suited for someone who wants a bit of extra power and doesn't need the device to be particularly portable. Battery life is again poor by modern laptop standards, but it's not been built to be power conservative.

Excellent price, comparable to an entry level i3 and with 8GB ram and a 1TB HDD is a no-brainer. Build quality may not be great but at that price...

Also, regards games, the graphics are very low end and would only be suitable for stuff like CS: GO, Warcraft, Minecraft, FIFA and similar titles. I know it's a €250 laptop but people will see 'AMD Graphics' and possibly jump to conclusions.
