    simple question..

    Im doing some science, hooked up a guitar to an accelerometer. Recorded the E low string being strung, and in the computter I'm seeing higher amplitudes in a lot of cases at the 1st harmonic, than the natural frequency.

    Is this nuts or is there some simple phenomenon/explanation for this? Music is not my forte', I study mechanics..

    for instance, see combined chart of 10 samples - for 9/10 samples recorded, the harmonic was picked up at a higher amplitude than that achieved by the base frequency.
