I notice in my shed what looks like a battle between a lace weaver and a false widow is about to ensue! Who'll win?

Quite likely it would depend on which of them has eggs incubating.

Is False Widow present as a shrivelled dried up remnant of its former self?
    Or just gone?

I checked today. There's a half shell of something there, but it looks quite old. I'd guess the Widow has legged it... legged it.... has to be a pun there.

Pity. I was putting my money on that coward.

    :)

I've got a few of the False Widows in the shed. Some of them are really lovely specimens. Very clear markings.
