Hello. I bought some time ago a car with fake nct disc on, seller had switched off his phone or whatever and I wasn't able to contact with him after my discovery. Found that out when went to get my car nct-d again..now wondering if that causes now something that the insurer I was insured with on that time, doesn't insure me anymore thanks to that I was driving around without valid NCT? If you go to NCT test, will they report your car having a fake NCT disc to somewhere that blackmarks you somehow?

Go first to the Gardaí with the disc and report it to them along with the sellers mobile number. You could book the car in for NCT and pay for it without obtaining the logbook first, it may be required to receive the cert.

I presume you don't have the sellers name or address and you also bought from someone who was not the registered owner of the car? Buying a car from someone who is not the registered owner is asking for trouble.

well on that time I actually got NCT done, the real one, before that was driving like blind aroud with fake NCT disc on for couple of weeks, just at the centre they found out that the disc was fake, showed me as well..the problem is if NCT center found that out, did they had to report that somewhere? and I am now on blacklist somewhere?

Nah you wont be on any list,

Retrospectively you may not have been fully covered by your insureance, but who knows, who cares, you're all up to speed now.

It's a lesson for you, perform all possible checks before you buy a car,

    Enter the car details here:

    https://www.ncts.ie/

to check if the test is real/valid

Just move on. It won't lead to any prosecution. You'll only get frustrated that you wasted do much time thinking about it.

As other have said it shouldn't really effect you now. I'd still report to guards mind.
