Anyone know how to get small blood stains from a cotton shirt. Has been hot washed a couple time before they were noticed

One site says hydrogen peroxide but one reply says it will break down the fibers and the shirt will tear.

Bleach? Where would you get bleach for that, is it the same as bleach as used in toilets?

They are only tiny little spots so if bleach faded it it would not be noticed in the design

burn the shirt, the cops will still be able to find traces of DNA

More useful on a fresh blood stain but try soaking it in a strong salt and (cold) water solution for an hour or two, then wash again.
I'd be hesitant to use hydrogen peroxide simply because it can cause yellow stains on white cotton, so start small (with the salt) and repeat a couple of times before resorting to the big guns.
No use for this time but in future if you notice a blood stain make sure you soak it in cold water and salt as soon as possible (warm/hot water sets blood stains) and if you notice a trace of stain remains after washing, don't tumble dry as the heat from the dryer will set it further.

I find Vanish is excellent at removing blood stains. Pour it on directly and it starts to lift immediately.

I used Astonish Oxi Active. Pretreated by mixing it with water and dabbing on spots with a Q Tip. Then washed with Astonish and usual detergent as instructed. Came out very good. No blood stains or fade. And it had been hot washed twice

As the fella used to say in the farming ad "it's a quare name but great stuff

I've soaked a shirt with day-old bloodstains in cold water and vanish powder overnight, having dampened and treated the stain with vanish beforehand, and then washed it as normal on a 40 wash with vanish and it turned out perfectly.

Would overnight not fade it? The one i had said five minute pre treatment, then wash. I wasn't vanish

Dishwasher tablet in the with the wash, works brilliant on stains, I've never had a problem. Would advise 40 degrees not 30 and a longer wash then a hour
