In a rut

I'm 18, just finished my Leaving. Got my course but deferred it to next year due to my mental health not being great. I've been self-diagnosed with anxiety for the past 3 years but diagnosed since February and lately I just feel terrible and need to vent.

I work part-time at the moment as I'm not in college this year, usually 1-3 days a week. The work is crap and so is the money. I always had the mentality before I got working that I didn't care once I got money, and I didn't for a long time but now the gig is up and I'm sick of it. What's more, when I'm not working I'm bored and miserable. I can't find the motivation inside to do anything productive, not even an anyway significant walk.

Since the exams finished I've written so many cover letters and sent so many CVs for jobs and have had no luck. All I've gotten is one interview which I didn't get the job for. I wonder what's the point. I try and try but to no avail.

I'm more than likely depressed and am in the transition of going to the Adult Mental Health Services but I just needed to say something.

    hi op
it's good that you're dealing with your mental health issues. get those under control and there'll be no stopping you.
most part-time work, especially something you probably ner dreamed of doing is going to be a bit painful, but on a positive note, it's better than nothing.
depending on what it is, is there any way to get to do different things so that you could improve your skills? the more you have to offer on a cv the better chance you'll have when job-hunting.

what interests do you have? when you're not working you might be tter of doing something physical/outdoors. great for the head:)
on another positive note, out of all the job applications, you got an interview. okay it didn't result in a job offer, but some don't even get to the interview stage so consider every step a bonus.

i realise that things mightn't look too good at the moment so make sure you have support and someone to talk to when things are *rappy.
    take care

    Sorry for the late reply.

I'm working in washup in a hotel kitchen, I've thrown my name in for waiting/bartending but I've heard nothing back. I will ask again but outside of that I don't think there's any other skills I could develop in my current position.

I play soccer and football and tend to train 2-3 times a week altogether. I find that if I have training in the evening and I'm not working that I tend to just bide my time until then and do very little productive work.

Yesterday when I wrote this was a really rough day, the worst in months. I feel a fair bit better today.

    Thanks for the help.
