Do you require rear fog lights for the driving test?

Thankfully, I got a slot for my driving test. In the attachment they sent out they said that brake lights and indicators have to be working, among other things, they don't mention rear fog lights though. The car I'll be using has rear fog lights but they're not working.

Is it a case that I only have to know where the button to power them on is for the test or do the lights themselves have to physically work?

    Thanks

I did my test about a month ago and the tester checked the fog lights as well as all the others

Normally they don't check them but they could ask how to use them. As long as there isn't anything on the dashboard, you should be fine but I wouldn't take the risk.

Ask yourself this: for the sake of a few euro would you rather run the risk of having to redo the test?

Brought the car to a mechanic today to fit a bulb for the rear fog light. He took off the cover and showed me the sockets underneath. There was no socket for a rear fog light on the side I thought was "broken"...the car is only supposed to have 1 rear fog light, on the right hand side, as per the manufacturer's specs. :pac:

    So that's that sorted...car is a mazda 323 if anyone's wondering.
