Coaxial cable extender from Argos

Apologies if this has been covered before, be nice to the newbie!!

Because I moved the location of my TV, I now need a longer cable (I'm with Sky).
I read somewhere that a 10m coaxial cable extender would do the job, so I bought one. unfortunately, when i got it home, I noticed that the cable going into the back of the sky box is a double one (spliced?), with "dish 1" and "dish 2" connection points. The cable that I bought is a single one.
Now apologies in advance if this is a stupid question, but..... do I need to buy 2 of these cables, or.....
The other option that I was considering was just buying a new length of cable and attaching it to the dish (I've someone who can do this for me). (I went with the easier option, because it looked like the easier option, plus they only have rg6 cable in my local hardware shop, n I believe that ct100 is better...)

Any and all useful advice is gratefully accepted!!

I had a similar problem so instead of running a new length from the lnb to the set top box I used a f joiner and then connected the existing cable to one end and then another cable which reached the new location of the set top box. You will need to do this twice if you have 2 cables from your lnb

Good quality RG6 is fine for short runs , the problem is bad quality RG6 is really bad and unfortunately hardware shops seem to carry the lower quality. Not sure if b and q still stock this but they did carry PH and PF100 cable which was CAI approved and is excellent . If you use F female and connectors as my fellow poster suggests above it should work fine . Here's a video to show how to terminate the connectors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHdphIFSK3Q

CT100 is better but it has been obsolete for many years. Similar products such as WF 100 are available however.
but for a short run RG 6 is OK.
