    Hi

Looking a search on Boards...some of the Amsterdam threads are quite old.

So - anyone travel to Amsterdam in last year???? Any recommendations for a 3 night stay in a hotel????

Hoping for a €100 +/- room per night excluding breakfast budget.

    Many thanks

we stayed in the Room Mate Aitana. Lovely hotel - really modern. Its behind the train station so not in the centre but we walked into the centre. No idea how much it is though

It's hard to be sure of quality at that budget, so might be worth running your dates through Priceline, then click on express deals. I've used their express deals facility all across EU & the States on many occasions & I find it a teriffic resource. It's essentially blind booking - so you don't know which hotel you've bagged 'til it's paid for, but it'll give you the area & the star rating. Areas you should consider are Royal Palace - Central Station - Dam Square & Museum Quarter - Vondelpark. I've bagged the NH Centre that way & others have reported getting the Movenpick, which is a really nice spot. Also best to stick with 4 & 5 star properties.

Some of Accor's properties in Amsterdam can represent value for money if your timing is right.

Close to your budget, the following (in a good location & virtually beside eachother) may be of interest.

We stayed at the Hotel Doria. It was a group of lads, just a stone's throw from the Dam. Suited us, but there was no wow factor if you want to impress anyone.

Nice, friendly staff. Rooms very basic, and small.

Just back and stayed in the Ibis Stopera http://m.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-3044-ibis-amsterdam-centre-stopera/index.shtml
It was €130 per night for our dates so I don't know if that's too far from your budget. It was very central and clean. Staff were friendly also. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The cheapest price I found was direct with the hotel and signing up to their rewards programme.
