Amiko Mini Combo external HDD

Hi, I tried adding an external HDD to the above box but it doesn't recognise it when I try to format it from the menu. I followed the freetv video instructions which are for a pen drive. Any idea how to get the box to recognise the HDD ?

In the video
the drive is already formatted as fat 32

If the drive you are connecting is new it may not be already formatted or formatted as ntfs or linux
in which case it may not be recognised

did you try formatting it from a pc first

Failing that does your drive need an external power source ?
