Read the fine print before purchasing, a lot of the cheaper policies don't cover a lot of treatments (hence why they're cheaper).

Allianz is your best bet and most reliable. Just remember, you need to keep up all annual vaccinations to make sure to keep the policy legit. Most companies wont pay out on a claim if these are not kept up to date and will want proof too.

Allianz don't require vaccinations any more. The deal is that if the dog gets something they could have been vaccinated against the won't pay out for it. You do however have to have an annual check up including dental check.

Oh really? That's great. Makes perfect sense really.

Hopefully the other companies might follow suit, but i doubt it.

Sorry op, the insurance company you referred to have threatened legal action before when complaints were made about them on this forum in years gone by, therefore we have been instructed to never allow them to be mentioned or discussed here again.
Take from that what you will.
    Thanks,
    DBB

I like their new on-line portal but wish they could do a bank transfer for claims rather than an old fashioned cheque? I think I'm spoiled with Laya's new app - upload pics of your receipts and they refund straight into your bank account! :o Bailey's policy went down €100 this year as he's 7 now.. I think Lucy's went up €10-20

Bear in mind that most pet insurance companies pay you back, you have to pay the vet bill then claim it back, so if you need one that will deal direct with your vet, double check how they operate.

My vet and the two we've been to for surgeries have direct claim set up with Allianz so you pay the excess and sign the form and they put in the claim.

I have been with 123.ie. They are no longer accepting new policies and I got a letter from them today saying that the company that cannot be named will be taking over my policies :(

Seriously op... You're not allowed to discuss this company. Please keep specific info about the company-who-cannot-be-named to pm.
    Thanks,
