Hi there, i'm looking for a internal upvc door in woodgrain effect, white with colonist 6 panel design, preferably 40mm think. Anyone know of any suppliers in ireland? the reason i'm looking for pvc is its for the kitchen to hallway and the dogs jump up on it in the morning when they get excited so they tend to scratch the wooden one, pvc might be a bit more resistant to the scratches

I wouldn't bank on pvc being more resistant. In fact if it got any heavy scratches it would be time for a new door

Agree with colm. Pvc is not resistant at all to scratches

How big are the dogs? would a metal plate to cover the lower half of the door be sufficient? Not the most attractive but cheap and effective. Alternative even perspex, acrylic which you could change at intervals.

german shepherd and a husky so big enough. I just thought pvc would be better as they don't seem to scratch the outside door as much

surely some sort of heavy clear vinyl film could be applied to wooden doors to stop the dogs destroying them?
