How come when I gave a meter reading on the day I received an estimated bill did not not get a new bill with the updated reading instead a DD was taken for the lesser amount?

    Hi cycling is fun,

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are required to give advance notice to the bank of between five and seven working days prior to collecting a direct debit. The new bill may not have been generated on time to prevent the original bill from being collected.

How did you submit the meter reading? When a meter reading is submitted online or on the automated service, this will take a few days to be processed. If you are speaking directly with a Customer Service advisor (either on the phone or with us here in the Social Media department), we can check if the meter reading will be corrected on time and advise you accordingly.

If you would like us to check what happened, please send us a private message with the following information:
    • Your full name
    • Your account number
    • The first line of your address
    • Your contact number or date of birth
    • Confirmation you are the account holder (a sentence stating this is sufficient)

We can then look into your query for you.

      Thanks,
      Aoife
