    It's plastic. Have these ones myself. Only the shade is metal.

    In a nutshell you need to verify that it is a Class II luminaire (i.e. it has double or reinforced insulation). This will be indicated by a symbol consisting of a square located within another square.

    It is important to note that Class II accessories can be metal-encased, so just because it isn't made entirely of plastic does not prove that it is Class I.

    It doesn't have anywhere for earth wire. Comes with one of those hokey spring loaded connector strips.


    One thing worth noting is that on those particular lights, the top bit doesn't sit flush with the ceiling. There's a gap.

    if it has the CE mark then its fine
