Securing a spare wheel on a 2013 Civic

I have a 2013 Honda Civic and like most cars these days it came with a puncture repair kit and no spare wheel. There is a wheel shaped space in the lower section of the boot to store a wheel but no obvious way to secure it, there's no hole to screw the wheel into place. The bottom of the boot has some sort of carpeted cardboard that I imagine you could wrestle out but I'm not sure.

Is there some way to secure a spare wheel in these cars? Is there some sort of kit you can get? I'm not looking to start drilling holes either for various reasons!

I'm not sure about 9th gen civic which you are asking, but in previous 8th gen, hole for screwing the securing bolt was there. However there was no hole in the carpet, so I had to drill through the carpet myself to get to original fixing hole.

My Accord was the same no spare just a bottle of jizz and a compressor.
I got a spare and pulled the carpet well thing out and then made a 8mm bolt clamp to hold a spare steel wheel.
You could get parts 9 and 10 in this diagram.

I was checking the boot today and there's a ridge and what feels like a small bump about where I'd expect a bolt to go but it feels solid and not something that just needs pushing through to make a hole.

I will phone the dealer tomorrow as see if I can get a wheel and kit.

im pretty sure if you order the 'kit' you get the required parts for securing in the underfloor compartment.. on a side note - do you think having a spare is worth it?

Without a doubt its worth having a spare.
Last puncture I got was a 40mm slit in the corner of the tyre/sidewall.
No gunk will fix that.
Driving in urban areas with decent recovery services maybe OK, anywhere rural or where there is no phone service may be a lot more problematic if you can't fix the puncture with the kit.
