Some questions about diet

    Hello,

I am doing a low carb diet at the moment with the goal of weight loss. I am OK once I have a routine in place so I know that I can stick to this diet, but I wanted to check it with some of you experts to make sure that this diet is healthy enough or if I should make some changes at the beginning.

    Meal 1:
    - 2 fried egg
    - 2 large slices of deli turkey OR 150g of prawns with garlic

[On gym day, I will have a double scoop of whey immediately after workout]

    Meal 2
    - Grilled chicken breast (About 170g)
    - Some nuts (either 30g of almonds or else 30g of pumpkin seeds + pistachio kernels mixed)
    - 1 plum OR some grapes OR a kiwi

    Meal 3:
    - Lean beef meatballs made with: 200g extra-lean minced beef (3.5% fat), 50g onions, 30g green beans, 30g carrots, a little bit of ketchup
    - Green juice that I make with: 100g kale, 100g celery, 1 apple, some ginger

    Meal 4:
    - 220g of Salmon or chicken breast or white fish
    - 50g of broccoli
    - Slice of laughing cow light cheese
    - 50g of asparagus OR okra

During the day, I also take fish oil and a berocca in the morning, and curcumin supplement also because I have a genetic arthritis condition which is currently OK but can have acute flare ups.

On a normal day it comes to about 1850 calories: 190g protein, 92g fat, 65g carbs.

I want to make sure that it is optimal because I might be eating like this every day for the next 3 months.

    Some questions:
    - I have read some conflicting advice about whether a diet like this would lead to increased cholesterol. If my cholesterol is already a little bit on the high side, is it OK to eat 200g of beef every day, and 2 eggs in the morning?
    - Should I be concerned about a lack of fibre, particularly since the kale and celery is consumed as a juice and the quantities of green veg in the other meals are quite small?
    - I would love to eat more fruit, but I am concerned about the fructose and the carbs. Now I'm limiting to 2 pieces of fruit per day, in your experience on a low carb diet is this OK and potentially could I add more fruit somewhere?
    - Since I have been on this diet, I have not noticed any feelings of the arthritis and I have a feeling that it is helping. But if you have any knowledge about things that I should remove or add to make it more anti-inflammatory then I would be very interested in that also.

I would also welcome any general advice or tweak suggestions.

    Thanks very much in advance.

Too much protein. Low carb generally means high fat.

Looks ok to me , it's not about too much fat or carbs it depends on your bodyweight and macros , what are your macros looking like?

0.8 to 1 pound of protein per pound of bodyweight is perfect , make the rest up where you want as long as your hitting your calorie goal.
