Not very clued up on Chromecast so how much data would it use on average for a family of 4 as I have a limit of 30gb per month?
Imagine you are explaining this to a 10 year old

I think Netflix uses something like 700mb an hour in SD so you're allowance wouldn't last very long. How much do you use a month now?

Video is video. You can pick up freesat for nothing but you need to put up a dish and receiver (high initial cost) but other than that 30GB will cripple any service, doesnt matter what its called or what player is used.

On Netflix lowest setting you can watch 100 hours of Peppa Pig a month. :P:D

Chromecast itself uses zero data....If you watch a 4gb on your PC and chromecast it to another device...you have still used 4gb.
Essentially Chromecast is a wireless HDMI cable.
