Well lads, I'm sure you'll all be happy to know Dundalk starts up again.

Let the mad gambles, blind following and bi-weekly appearances from the same nags commence.

    Shabra Emperor 7.30

Course and distance winner off 71 last year(now 64). A long time since he's run in a race this poor and has a first time tongue tie added after a break and prep. Kennedy booked with his 3lb claim suggests to me a nice run is expected and this week being the Anniversary of Oliver Bradys death i'd say they've been lining up one for a while(horse formerly trained by Oliver and Mc Cann took over the yard)
I'll be disappointed if he doesn't place at least.

Snap. Lighening Stricks is the other that worries me in this though. Kenndy's only ride at Dundalk too after making the short trip down from Downpatrick.

Be careful it may say that on oddschecker (possibly their site too) but they count the three reserves as runners. Max field of 14 they'll only pay 3 when they're taken out

Andy Holding moves prices big time but his Irish knowledge is v basic. Was worried to see all the money for Arbourfield against Twistsandturns until I realised it was him that tipped it. His preview doesn't mention the big concern that he's better over 7.

Amazing Maria would pick these up and carry them if she returned to her firm of last season on ground she will absolutely love. Ran better last time at Deauville and she might run well at Newmarket 6/1

A quid yankee as well : Amazing Maria, Twists and turns, Box Office at Worcester and Declan queally's ride in the bumper at DP

There hasn't been a shilling for it, and it's been a year and a half off the track, but on the basis of its maiden run, surely Aggression has a cracking chance at nice odds of 10/1 in the opener at Dundalk? Winner on its debut run against horses that have went onto decent careers, it flopped on its second run (rated 90 though). This handicap today is about a stone below that run, so surely it has a chance? Distance should be fine, draw is ok; on paper you'd think it goes close, but horse may not be fit? Worth a small punt straight, reckon it's out for a run or it wins....

Dundalk 9:00 - Not a high conviction pick by any means, but Gunshoot at 9/1 goes off a career low mark of 47 in the last. Had a few runs in Dundalk last season and showed flashes of being competitive at around the mid 50's mark, has some form on this sort of Dundalk trip.

Cougar Mountain 3.40 New looks a good price 9/1 with 5/2 two places .
Will have the faster ground today . 3 or maybe 4 of his rivals would prefer cut in the ground. Nothing between them all on official ratings .

All in on my good brother in the first at dundalk. Horse is flying on the gallops at home. Stable mate has a good each way chance again too.

Good call there. You were right about the ground too I reckon.

Wish you had posted that before I had picked my horse! Mine traded at 40's before the off, was never the winner :(

    Elusive Heights 9-1 8.30

Still progressing. Can forgive its last run in a field of 25 when it was eased 2f out .
I think it can compete here and go close.

    2pts win 9-1

Unlucky with Shabra Francie. Watched a few replays today. Paddy M looked like he got a little caught out in the last at Downpatrick.

Jack Kennedy fractured his leg at Downpatrick, hence the jockey change to Orr. Can't help but feel we would have won had he been on, especially considering the distance it was beat by. Oh well.

Sorry about that Francie. Was flat out at work for last few days. Was meant to pop it up Thursday when the thread opened.
