Curiosity has gotten the better of me as I see Dundalk F.C. chartered a flight to Amsterdam with CityJet and I am just wondering how much would that cost?

I cannot see anything on the website https://www.cityjet.com/book/charters/ and on http://www.privatefly.com/private-flights/how-much-does-a-private-flight-cost.html it quotes £100,000 for the flight.

I found the flight https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/af5398 so it seems they hired a Sukhoi Superjet 100-95B.

Any idea on the cost of a return flight?

No idea but realistically they are likely charging 120-160 per head return and it's likely varied on route requested. So ball park 10,000-20,000. Other factors are difference between return/departure and if for example they had to do positioning flights or just pay for crew hotels at the airport and park up would pay a role in the cost.

    I could be completely wrong...

Back in the mid-noughties when Munster were the kings of Europe in rugby day trips to the semi's and finals used to be €250-€450 depending on the time of year. One of the things to factor in is the fact that the plane will have to transit in from it's base and return there as well.

Was there not some unpleasantness back then about charters being organised by someone without an AOC?

Yes, out of Shannon, it was stopped fairly quickly once the Dept was notified. the prices I quoted in my earlier post were what the travel agents/tour operators were charging the public, not what the cost of the charter was.
